EXOMEDICINE INSTITUTE APPOINTS KYLE KEENEY AS FIRST EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

New Kentucky-based organization will explore space-based biomedical innovation

LEXINGTON, KY – The Lexington-based Exomedicine Institute today announced its first ever executive director, furthering its mission to advance biomedical R&D in space for applications on Earth.

Kyle Keeney, Ph.D., will take the helm of the Institute and work with healthcare leaders across the United States and around the globe to promote and explore new opportunities for creating revolutionary patient treatment options and medical products including pharmaceuticals in near-earth orbit.

Keeney is no stranger to leading cutting edge organizations. As an entrepreneur and executive with more than 20 years of experience, he has ably led numerous innovative efforts to prominence and long-term success.

“Kyle is a visionary leader able to balance market context, academic rigor and solid innovation with organizational capacity and constraints,” said Kris Kimel, Chairman and Founder of the Exomedicine Institute. “We are pleased to have him onboard to help take this important new research initiative to the new heights.”

The Exomedicine Institute is a private, collaborative enterprise focused on the research and development of new medical solutions and disease research in the microgravity environment of space for novel uses on Earth. The Institute works in collaboration with NASA, the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), Space Tango and other companies to foster novel, fast-paced, transformative solutions to important contemporary problems.

Keeney’s role will include managing daily operations, increasing awareness and fostering new opportunities to grow the Institute and further its mission.
